3rd Year Class Update: 11th Oct 2009

Hi All,
This weeks attendance was quite good, with more number of turnouts.
Mr. Murlidhar continued his presentations on TV production. For the convenience of all, I have collectively uploaded all the ppts that were presented since last week. There are about 8 ppts on the whole. I encourage everyone to download and use this for your reading purpose. Please remember that the size of the zip file is quite large, its about 22Mb. You may download these from the link below

Project Announcements:
By the next class i.e on 25th October 2009, we need to submit our group(s) or individual names along with the project details to Jamal.

Project Requisites
  • Every student is required to submit a project.
  • A project could be executed either individually or by a group of 2 to 3 people.
  • The subject for the project could be anything from whatever we have learnt so far, e.g. A photography project, video film, flash based projects, animation, Graphic design, Advertisement etc.
  • Individual students or their groups will need to give their names along with the title of the project and the synopsis (synopsis format will be posted later in this blog) latest by 25th October 2009
  • Students need to identify a guide to support and help in the execution of the project. The guide could be anyone who is qualified and an expert in his own field. A letter from him/her is required giving consent to be your guide.
  • The project will be executed in stages and at every stage a demo will need to presented to the university. (more details on this later)
  • After the completion of the project, A viva- voice will be conducted before/after the final exams.
  • Project Reports: 3 copies of the Project Report are required to be presented. The project report will be neatly printed and bound. One copy will be sent to the University, One copy to Jamal, and one copy for the student.
  • Project report is very important and this will need to reach the university by the indicated date (will be intimated later), failing which the student will be marked absent.
I hope things are clear. Please contact Jamal for any other details.

The next class will be on 25th October, between 12 pm and 2 pm.

Wishing you all a Happy and prosperous Deepavali.

Best,

Welcome to VisCom 3rd year

Hi all,
For those of you who were'nt aware of our 3rd year classes, it began last sunday - 6 Sept.

We have 1 subject being "taught" at the university this year - TV production, which is being handled by Mr.Muralidhar. Opening day saw a poor attendance of about 8 people.

Other subjects include Web Design & HTML, 3d Max, etc.,

NEXT CLASS on 20th SEPTEMBER 2009.

Important Announcement

Its necessary that we submit a project relating to "Visual Communication" or anything we've learnt so far. Project needs to be done & ready for submission by February next year.

Jamaal with his head's up advice suggested the following things

Stage 1 - we form groups of 3 or 4 or any number appropriate ASAP (preferably by end of this month)
Stage 2 - After groups are formed you discuss and come up with something you think will make a good project. Could be an AD campaign, Web campaign, a short film, etc., [anything that's got to do with what we've learnt so far]
Stage 3 - We prepare a draft of what it is about and get it approved by Jamaal or the University (not sure who or whether both)
Stage 4 - Execute the project
Stage 5 - Document it. Make 3 copies of it. 1 for the university, 1 for Jamaal & 1 for u.

That's just a gist of what it's all about. If you have any clarifications please call Jamaal or attend the next class.

More for later.
